Gastón García Guevara

Bio

Gastón García Guevara was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in November 1977.

In 2000 he studied Film Directing at the CIEVYC.

He entered the professional world by developing his career in the areas of Cinematography and Camera, as well as in Directing.

At the beginning, he worked as a television cameraman in various formats, both fiction and documentary ("Hospital Público" (Public Hospital), "Algo Habrán Hecho" (Something they must have done), "Pequeños Universos" (Small Universes), "Escuelas Argentinas" (Argentinian Schools) / CANAL ENCUENTRO (Encuentro TV channel, among others), for different channels and production companies.

In 2008, he took his first job as Director, making the series of TV specials "Argentina desde Adentro"(Argentina from within), for the production company Boga Bogagna of Bruno Stagnaro, thus beginning his path as director of television documentaries.

At the end of 2013 he joined the CONICET Documentary area as Director where he was responsible for the realization of different audiovisual projects related to scientific research and popularization: "Científicos a Bordo" (Scientists on Board, 2014 - TV PUBLICA), "La Isla Sumergida" (The Submerged Island, 2016 - CANAL ENCUENTRO) and "Campaña Cero" (Campaign Zero, 2017 -TV PUBLICA).

From 2014 onwards, he ventures as a cinematographer cameraman working with the Director of Photography Felix "Chango" Monti in different projects: "Zonda, Folklore Argentino" (Zonda) by Carlos Saura, "Corazón Loco" (Crazy Heart) by Marcos Carnevale, "El Robo del Siglo" (The Robbery of the Century) and "El Gerente" (The Manager) by Ariel Winograd.

In 2023 he joins the El Eternauta (The Eternaut) team as a cameraman, an important science fiction series directed by Bruno Stagnaro and starring Ricardo Darín. Production of Netflix and K&S Films.

He is currently developing, together with Psychologist Javier Labourt, the miniseries ALIVE that combines Psychology with transformational journeys.
